A Bit About Me
Hi! I am a 22-year old turned 23 during the duration of this practicum. From a hopeful girl born in Cagayan Valley, raised in Manila, to doing internships in Bengkulu-- I found myself solving more than just math problems. This journey with SEAMEO was an equation of growth, where each challenge became a variable shaping my passion for teaching.
A fourth-year pre-service teacher from the Pontifical and Royal Catholic University of Santo Tomas majoring in Mathematics, from the Philippines to Indonesia, every step added to my learning, proving that the sum of experience is greater than its individual parts.
Aside from doing my internship, I also serve as the Vice-President of our class and the Filipino Section Editor of our University's official student publication, the Varsitarian.
Prior to my practicum in Indonesia, I already had experiences in teaching Grades 10 and 7classes in our College of Education's Laboratory School, the Education High School (EHS). Moreover, I serve as a Junior Class adviser on one of its Grade 10 section.
Grateful for this SEA Teacher Program, I get to handle all classes from Grades 7 - 9 in less than a month in SMP - Sint Carolus.

Hear me try to Introduce myself using Bahasa Indonesia...

The SEAMEO SEA Teacher Program (Southeast Asian Teacher Program) was launched in 2014 by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) to enhance teacher mobility and cultural exchange across Southeast Asia. This initiative provides pre-service teachers with the opportunity to practice teaching in a foreign country for a month, allowing them to develop pedagogical skills, adaptability, and cross-cultural understanding.
Participants teach in primary and secondary schools, collaborate with local educators, and experience different education systems, teaching methodologies, and classroom environments. The program fosters regional cooperation by preparing future teachers to be globally competent educators while embracing Southeast Asia’s diverse cultures and educational practices.

Through this program, I had the opportunity of teaching at SMP Sint Carolus in Bengkulu, Indonesia. In the very first place, I chose to join this exchange to challenge and improve my pedagogical skills. In the end, this journey did not just enhanced my pedagogical skills, but also deepened my cultural understanding, and reaffirmed my passion for shaping young minds in a global classroom setting, making me more confident to face the world in different classrooms.

Moreover, this experience did not just made me more passionate and in love with my chosen profession, but also made me appreciate my Mathematics more!
